We celebrate the Day of the Dead again this year as we always do. We remember the people we lost, who crossed over to Xibalba, not to mourn, but to celebrate their memory. We remember, so they’re not lost.
Beyond a simple festival, Xibalba 2024 is an invitation to celebrate life, honor the departed and embrace the cyclical nature of existence.
This year we have two parts to our celebration: the family friendly side in the morning and an exceptional parade of artists from diverse cultures and origins. In this way we don’t only celebrate our differences, but also all the elements that unite us. All of them will have music, dance, food, art and the sense of community we’ve been nurturing all these years.
The altar will be the work of Lucía Díaz del Castillo, author of the altars in previous editions.
We’ve been joining communities in Oslo for this occasion since 2015 and we’re glad we can celebrate again in Kulturkirken Jakob once again.
Get your tickets now and come join us in our celebration.
